Welcome to Artisound’s Queens Guitar!

Welcome to Queens Guitar, an online music educational resource developed by Artisound, LLC in Long Island City, Queens, NY.   We are developing this site to become the premiere resource for everything you need to know about learning (a process which certainly never ends) and playing the guitar. We’ll talk about technique; we’ll talk about how to practice effectively; we’ll review methods and books; we’ll interview both professional and young guitarists; we’ll share our love for the guitar.  We’ll talk about how to choose a good teacher; we’ll review guitar strings; we’ll publish exercises and drills; we’ll talk about how to be a confidant performer; we’ll talk about how to play guitar with ease.

We are also going to talk a lot about music theory, history and interpretation because we are not just learning the guitar, we are learning to play music on the guitar. It’s an important distinction. We believe in fully preparing everyone to be complete musicians.

Here is what the music instruction developed exclusively by Artisound does differently. Most guitar sites will show you only what notes or patterns to play with what fingers. This is only the first step of many in truly mastering any piece of music or technique. Yes, we might show you what notes to play and which fingers to use, but we’ll also show you the proper technique needed to play those notes, how to learn that music, how to learn that music on the guitar (they are different), how to practice that music, and much, much more.  You’ll not find anything lacking here.
